An upcoming exhibition at the New York Public Library’s Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture will feature a portrait of Maharani Bumba Duleep Singh, the wife of Maharaja Duleep Singh, the last recognized Sikh monarch after the British annexed the Sikh empire in 1849.
