You will recall the story about the Sikh grandfather who thwarted a robbery attempt of his family’s convenience store in Sacramento, California three weeks ago. Eighty-year-old Baldev Singh had a history of fighting crime:
That wasn’t enough to scare 80-year-old Baldev Singh, a retired cop, when the robber hit the family’s convenience store last weekend.
“Yes, I am a policeman in Punjabi [sic], India,” Singh said.
The suspect popped off one shot, but it didn’t hit anyone.
Looking down the barrel of the gun, didn’t scare Baldev Singh, who instead took action, and ripped the mask right off the robber’s face.
The robber, nicknamed the “KISS bandit” because of the mask he wore, escaped from the scene, but was arrested yesterday by Sacramento police:
Detectives located and arrested Vanna Sisounthone (pictured), 43, Feb. 3 in connection with three robberies that occurred Jan. 19-21. Law enforcement officers dubbed the robber the Evil Clown Robber because of the mask … he wore during the robberies.
Something tells me the bandit’s fate in police custody might be better than it would have been had he not escaped from Baldev Singh’s hands.
