New Gurdwara under construction for Oklahoma Sikhs

The Sikh community in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, recently broke ground on a new, larger Gurdwara. The reason for the new facility is the growth of the Sikh population in the area: We need a bigger building to accommodate people. We started out in 1983 with 10 families, about 35 people. Davinder Singh Brar represented the Sikh Society of Kentucky at the National Day of Prayer event in Jeffersontown, Kentucky. The Society recently opened the first Gurdwara in that state, and so it’s great to see that congregation participate in their community’s interfaith activities.

Seattle, WA Sikh community to celebrate Vaisakhi this Saturday
