Police in Sacramento, California have released a sketch of the suspect in the murder of Balbir Singh Dhami and new photos of the suspect’s vehicle.
The victim in this crime was the third Sikh murdered in Elk Grove, California in a span of three months. Balbir Singh Dhami reportedly had a dubious drug-related past and (unlike the murders of Surinder Singh and Gurmej Atwal in Elk Grove in March) his is not considered a hate-motivated crime. His wife, who was also shot, is still recovering.

The Sikh Community along with the Dhami family have put together a new $25,000 reward for any information involving the murder of Balbir S. Dhami. Back on May 19th, cops were called to a home on Marla Way, Elk Grove CA. 53-year-old Balbir Singh Dhami was found shot dead inside the home, his wife had a gunshot wound. Investigators say a man came into the home and shot the couple inside the front door. Dhami and his wife are Sikhs. The suspect is described as a black man, he is short with a thin build. His car was captured on surveillance video in the area. He was seen driving a 4-door gold Mazda Protégé, with a black hood, black front and black rear bumpers.
