Member of Sterling, VA Sikh family, victims of death threat, describes history of harassment

“‘We will kill you, we will sell your children in Cuba, and tie up your women with your turbans,’” he says. “It was hard on us.” — a member of the Sikh family in Sterling, Virginia, who recently received a death threat accusing them of being a member of the Taliban, recounts the previous threats made against them in the past which also included spraying graffiti on their home.

T-shirts with derogatory anti-Sikh print sold on popular website

The Sikh Coalition alerted us today about t-shirts that were being sold on the popular website CafePress.com, which allows users to sell clothing and other items with custom designs. FBI joins investigation of Michigan Gurdwara vandalism as possible hate crime

Gurdwara in Sterling Heights, MI, vandalized in apparent hate crime

Elk Grove, CA PD to update on investigation of Sikh murders

Fresno, CA airport Sikh stabbing victim identified

The FBI’s Hate Crime Statistics database tells us that there are hate crimes

Recently, the FBI released its Hate Crime Statistics, 2010 report, and provided an overview: Today, the Federal Bureau of Investigation released Hate Crime Statistics, 2010, based on information submitted by law enforcement agencies throughout the Nation.  These data indicate that 6,628 criminal incidents involving 7,699 offenses were reported in 2010 as a result of bias toward a particular race, religion, sexual orientation, ethnicity/national origin, or physical or mental disability.
